A doctor, poet and photographer, Mauro Liggi focused on street photography, reportage and documentary photography since the beginning of his artistic career. He attended numerous courses and workshops with leading Italian photographers in the field (Francesco Cito, Valerio Bispuri, Valentina Tamborra). He loves to mix languages, as evidenced by his first work, “Finestrini al plasma” (Plasma Windows): a story of Cagliari seen from bus windows, accompanied by short, striking verses and short poems. His reportage on the backstage of Italy’s most important contemporary circus, Circo Paniko, resulted in his first photographic book, “Una magica vita. Racconto fotografico degli artisti del Circo Paniko” (A Magical Life: A Photographic Account of the Artists of Circo Paniko), which was well received by critics, with reviews and publications in all the most important magazines in the field. In 2021, he published his first collection of poetry, Anima scalza. Le orme della poesia (Barefoot Soul. The Footsteps of Poetry). In 2022, a collection of poetry entitled Segnali di Fumo (Smoke Signals) was published by Altromondo Editore. In March 2024, he published Alla terra i miei occhi (My Eyes to the Earth), published by Interno Poesia, with a preface by Anna Segre.
