Franciscu Sedda is a professor at the University of Cagliari, where he teaches Semiotics of Contemporary Communication and Cultural Semiotics. He has been a visiting professor at Harvard University and the Pontifical University of São Paulo. He has given lectures in 15 countries. His interests include translation as a key to understanding the life of cultures, the nexus between globalisation and glocalisation, the dynamics of digital populism, the study of islands and the transformations of Sardinian consciousness, and the multiple forms of unpredictability. His most recent works include: Simboli d’oggi. Critica dell’inflazione semiotica (Today´s Symbols. A Critique of Semiotic Inflation with D. Mangano, Milan, 2023) and Semiotics of Conflict (with M. Maran and D. Monticelli, Tallinn, 2024).
