The Mondo Eco literary festival, dedicated to sustainability and organized by Il Crogiuolo, also expresses its ethical commitment through solidarity initiatives. The world can be a better place if we care for our neighbors and create a space for each person to connect. Reintegration and overcoming the concept of punishment are among the key issues facing contemporary life.
The Mondo Eco literary festival, dedicated to sustainability and organized by Il Crogiuolo, also expresses its ethical commitment through solidarity initiatives. The world can be a better place if we care for our neighbors and create a space for each of us to connect. Reintegration and overcoming the concept of punishment are among the key issues facing contemporary life. These reflections are the inspiration behind the Mondo Eco workshops offered to the youth of the Quartucciu Juvenile Correctional Institution. From December 20th to January 5th, 2025, the young guests will be able to find inner calm and a space for reflection and relaxation through the yoga and Tibetan bell workshop led by Pierpaolo Bistrussu. Cooking is both an act of love and an act of autonomy. I take care of myself, I’m able to satisfy my basic needs, and at the same time, it’s a subversive act of social criticism in the choice of products to bring to the table. Cooking fosters protection of the landscape and the environment, for example, by choosing locally sourced, organically grown products. Naturally, taste buds must also be satisfied. Furthermore, through cooking, I can travel and learn about the customs and foods of different countries. All of this can be explored through Gabriella Narciso’s cooking workshop at Il giardino dei piaceri. Finally, the children will meet with volunteers from the Zampe sarde association, Sabrina Esu, Flavia Carta, and Ambra Monica Bianciotto, for a pet therapy session. The relationship with our four-legged friends is important, not only for the benefits we can derive from it in terms of easing daily tensions, but also because it teaches respect and care for others’ time, space, and needs.
