Known for its high-altitude deserts, the mountainous region of Ladakh in northern India is a clear example of what climate change brings. Nature, culture, tradition and economy have always been interconnected around its majestic glaciers. Now, the gradual disappearance of these solid bodies of water is threatening the lives and identity of the people who live here. But this book tells us something more: rivers, mountains, forests and wind are no less alive than the humans and other living things that inhabit them.
From a small space, the perspective of the relationship between man and the environment becomes truly universal.
